Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala has given approval to a Rs. 600-crore action plan of the Hyderabad Karnataka Regional Development Board (HKRDB) for 2014-15. Instructions have been issued to Deputy Commissioners of six districts that are under the board to send a list of works suggested by legislators to be taken up using the available funds.


Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Sunday said the Union government was keen on establishing an aviation academy in Puttaparthi of Anantapur district, as the existing academy in Hyderabad would come under the jurisdiction of the Telangana State in future. He said his ministry had received a proposal from people’s representatives of Anantapur district for setting up the academy in Puttaparthi. On the sidelines of a meeting of the TDP in Etcherla mandal, the Minister revealed various plans for the aviation industry in Andhra Pradesh.


Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Sunday launched a ‘Clean Assam Campaign’ by symbolically wielding the broom at three locations in the city on Sunday. Mr. Gogoi said the campaign would be conducted in all educational institutions, government offices and public institutions in a phased manner. He also announced that a Green Brigade and permanent committees would be constituted to keep the city’s localities clean and dole out awards for cleanliness.
